Oof! How are you doing? Mercury retrograde was so intense! August was like a whirlwind of change. What did you do to navigate the energy? Did you rest, and relax? Or was your month like mine where you felt like an automatic tennis ball machine just kept spitting balls at you at high speeds that you felt like you had to hit?

This month Autumn makes its grand entrance. Are you ready for fall? Do you like the change of the seasons? Fall is one of my favorite seasons, because it’s hoodie weather! Along with more cozy clothes comes the Yin Water Rooster, proclaiming it’s “cocka-doodle-doo”! Yin Water is like a fresh, spring rain shower. It has a cleansing effect. The Roosters natural element is Yin Metal. Yin Metal is the taskmaster. Metal supports Water. So, ask the question, “What do you need to get done before winter comes?” The Rooster is the Zodiac sign that is outspoken and artistic. Combine these two energies and you can accomplish a great deal this month. It is best to pace yourself. Make sure your list is reasonable and do one thing at a time.

Rabbits lay low this month. The “cocka-doodle-doo” is a bit much for you to handle. It’s ok to hide out in your thicket. Dogs are a little spooked by roosters as well so watch your health and anxiety this month Dogs.

The Virgo New Moon on September 2nd brings a sense of duty, service. Virgo the virgin and healer are urging you to begin or get back to a good routine and diet. This will help you get into some healthy habits for the winter ahead. Also helping out a friend or family member is good under this moon. However, don’t plan on this moon being one of togetherness. The Sun and Moon are both opposing Saturn, the planet of rules and restrictions. This means that no matter how much you want to connect with others, you might have some roadblocks preventing that. So, I recommend making this new moon filled with new possibilities about you! It’s ok to spend some time alone with your health goals and new routines. Ask yourself, “What can I be doing to focus on my healing journey?” Then, make a list and do it!

The Full Moon in Pisces on September 17th is a dreamy one. Full moon represents the release of old baggage. This moon may bring out your empathetic side. You might need or be a shoulder to cry on as emotions are high. The Moon is conjunct Neptune the planet of illusion and delusion. This can enhance a sense of escapism. The Moon is also Squaring off with Jupiter, the planet of expansion and abundance, which brings the temptation of going too far. Use this energy to identify where you overdo things a bit and release it. Rather than escaping into addictions, do something creative, and let go of things that hold you back from daydreaming your best life into existence!

Last month was one of the hardest months of my life. My mother has been fighting cancer for the last few years. Unexpectedly she had a stroke and died a week later. We thought we had one more holiday season with her. She loved the holidays. The day before she had a stroke, she went on a hot air balloon ride which was one of her bucket list items. My mom wanted to go as high as the mountain peaks, and they did! This is the tribute I wrote to her on social media…
This is my mom Cheri, she passed away today. She was beautiful. She liked butterflies, the color lavender, fireworks, hot-air balloons, and flowers. She loved her family more than anything. She had a funny sense of humor that most people didn’t get. When I was younger, no matter where I had been for the day, with friends, at school, or at work, she wanted to know what I was up to and I would give her a full account when I got home. We had a complicated and difficult relationship. However, I never questioned her love for me and I hope she knew how much I loved her. Still do. I’ll miss you mom. I wish I could have one more hug. Love you the biggest, always.
