Summer is here in the Northern hemisphere! This month brings the energy of the Yang Metal Horse! The warmer weather brings such playful energy, which is perfect for the Horse! Horses love to run free with their mane in the wind! Freedom is a huge theme for this month because the Horse demands it! The Horse likes to chart its own course since its natural element is fire which is unpredictable. Use this energy to chart your course.
Yang Metal is the energy of structure, much like a big city scape. Tall buildings with a lot of activity. Yang elements require you to adjust to them. As a result of this combination of the fiery Horse and Yang Metal, you may need to adjust your course. Yang Metal requires discipline, so this will be a great time to put some routines into place to help you achieve your goals. Remember that the horse likes to be free, so this energy can produce tension. The fight between freedom and discipline. Balance the two carefully as this can also be a volatile energy.
In my 25 years of being a hairstylist, I learned about how this energy applies to real life. It was a fast-paced career, and I ran my schedule like a tight ship! Some days, I was in such a hurry to finish up a client to be ready for the next one, that I dropped my curling iron, and without paying attention, would pick up the hot iron at the wrong end. Which left me with calluses and scars as a reminder to slow down. This example refers to the combination of Metal and Fire. Proceed with caution. Be mindful of what’s right in front of you!
Now, if that wasn’t enough to take in, it’s also Gemini Season! Duality! Good twin vs. Evil twin. Gemini is very good at adapting like a chameleon. It is the shapeshifter archetype.
Not only is the sun going to be making its way through the sign of the twins, so will Venus, Mercury and Jupiter! That’s a lot of Gemini energy. Using the Yang Metal to guide and direct you this month will be a must!
We start the month out with a Venus Cazimi on June 4th in Gemini to bring us all closer to our core values and reaching out to those we love. This is a good time to communicate with your partner, friends and business associates. For those of you who are master manifestors, this is a great day to manifest money, and love. (The word Cazimi is an Arabic term for “in the heart of the sun” referring to when a planet is close to the sun.)

Mercury, the winged god flies back home to his favorite sign, Gemini. The term they use in the astrological world for this is Dignity or Domicile. When a planet feels at home and comfortable to be in its natural energy. In this case, Mercury is at home in the sign of Gemini and will be using its voice. The lines of communication are wide open this month. So say what you need to say and remember to use some metal energy to keep it clear and concise.
Mars the Planet of forward movement and action is still in Dignity in Aries inflaming the fires of discord on the world stage, and then moves into the earthy Taurus to calm some of those flames on the 9th.
Jupiter the Planet of expansion and abundance ended its time in the practical, slow and steady Taurus. Now entering Gemini, bringing a quicker and more fast paced energy. Jupiter is in detriment in Gemini. Which means that Jupiter feels more comfortable in the opposite sign Sagittarius, the sign of philosophy. We can compare this energy to staying overnight at your in-law’s house instead of your own. Don’t worry Geminis! This doesn’t mean anything bad. Jupiter is still bringing you all of the luck and abundance that it brings to the other signs.
The New Moon takes center stage on the 6th at 16 degrees Gemini! This will be a great moon to connect to your muse. Writers, singer/songwriters, creatives of all kinds, use this energy to start new projects! If you have been wondering when to start it, it’s now! Sun and moon are squaring off with Saturn the Planet of responsibility. Motivating you to get your project off the ground and formulate a plan to get it done! This is also good for journaling and doing a deep dive into your mindset! Shift to more positive thinking.
The Full Moon at 1 degree Capricorn, will shine a light on what you need to let go of when it comes to business dealings. What is holding you back from starting that business or launching that product or course? Surrender your fears of moving forward to the Full Moon’s energy of release! Are there addictive tendencies holding you back from focusing on getting things done? This is a great time to let them go! Allow this cleansing moon to bring clarity as to where you can move on from all things keeping you from your purpose!
